Early in the morning my friends and I went to Oxford railtrain station and took the train to Marylebone Station in London. We all were vey excited to go to London and discover or rediscover all the places of interest. It only took an hour to join the city and as group of three or more, we were able to benefit from preferential rates on the train tickets.

We first joined Baker street which is close to the station by walk. This is a worldwide famous street and 221B Baker Street is known to be Sherlock Holmes’ adress in Arthur Conan Doyle’s books. There were so many people waiting to go inside and so little time to visit every places that we simply took pictures.

Then, we walked trough the city, passed next to Mme Tussauds wax museum to

finally join China town. We found a good restaurant there, ate noodles, vegetable dumpling and drank bubble tea. It was my first time experiencing chinese food and I really appreciated changing my culinary habits and discovering new dishes.

Then we joined Picadilly Circus, a giant place with many people, restaurants and shops. It looks a little bit like Times square in New York with giant screens and numerous entertainments. We were able to listen to an australian singer playing famous songs and composition on his guitar. He was very talented and many people gathered to hear him perform.

d taking many pictures of Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the Parliament, London eye, Buckingam Palace… We also had the time to go for a walk in St Jame’s park and a small hour to get an overview of the British Museum historical treasures.

We were glad to visit all of these places !  One British Museumday is clearly not enough to see everything and many places like Camden market, Tower bridge, the Natural history museum, Science museum and others remain on my to-do list for another time.

On the way back, we ran into some CBL friends coming back to Oxford on the same train as we did. It was nice to exchange about our respective days in London and all the beautiful things we saw.

This is already the end of our first week in Oxford and I can’t believe how time flew by ! This was a great week and we had a lot of fun and learned many new things.

I am really excited with expectations of the week to come !
