Dear delegate,

I can’t believe that I am finally here, at one of the most prestigious university in the whole world : Oxford !

I woke up very early this morning in order to catch my flight to London Stansted Airport. Lucky me, South of France is only two hours ago from England and there is only one hour of jet lag. Despite the long queue at the English border, I was eager to reach my destination and start my two week course and activities with CBL International.

Arrived at the bus station with two suitcases ready for use, I ended up missing my direct bus to Oxford. Fortunately, another one leaved a dozen minutes later with a change at Victoria station which allowed me to admire both the streets of London and the English countryside. I must say that I was impressed by the beauty of the architecture which is amazingly a perfect blend between traditional and futuristic design.

Then, my second bus stopped at Gloucester Center which is at a fifteen minutes walk from St Anne’s College where I will be accomodated during my stay at Oxford. The weather was  a bit cloudy and it drizzled but it was fine and I reached my destination by the evening without any issue.

Eventually, I discovered the heart of the city which I find was quite lively for a Sunday evening. I really liked seing the red bricks of the houses and the cobbled streets. This is exactly what I expected to view when I arrived in this beautiful, typically English town.

St Anne’s College Lodge housed the registration desk of the CBL programme.

I received a warm welcome from the  team members and was told how the next of my stay would unfold. The schedule of the first week was printed and was handed to me at the same time as the keys to my room, a map of the residence, a mysterious London card and indications of the place and organization of the breakfast. It was becoming concrete and I was excited about what I was going to discover.

Entering the room, I immediately loved the atmosphere that was emerging. The furnitures are old-fashioned and cosy and the desk surely brings the brands of the brilliant students of Oxford who worked hard to be able to live up to the prestige of their university. I can easily imagine the ambience of that time and feel comfortable.

It begins well and I am curious to see how the rest of my week will go.
