Today was a free day so delegates could decide how to spend their Sunday. Some decided to go into London, others to Bicester Village. Some went shopping locally in Oxford and other did tours of the colleges. As for me, my International Criminal Law essay was due at 5:00pm so I spent most of the day with my eyes glued to my laptop typing away.

As an assessment, an essay was interesting as it allowed us to feel like real Oxford University students, who often have to research and complete a few essays per week. Luckily, we only had one! I finished by the early afternoon and headed straight to the Terrace which is Somerville College’s bar and café. A group of friends were already there watching the Wimbledon 2015 final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. It was a great atmosphere with a group of friends, cheering, relaxing and watching a lively match.

In the evening, we didn’t venture out too far. We headed to the Royal Oak, which is a pub directly opposite Somerville College. The food was great, but as we headed into town, we realised that most shops, restaurants and bars have odd opening hours on a Sunday. Unlike the other nights when there are plenty of people roaming around, on Sundays it seems that Oxfordians sleep! Even the Tesco closed at 5pm. Luckily the Sainsbury’s next door was still open, so we picked up some groceries for the week and headed home.

Tomorrow is our first class of European Business Law and the first day of another busy week so I’d best get to bed!
